České Radiokomunikace rewrites history: for the first time, broadcasting services do not account for the majority of the company’s revenues
Prague, 19. srpna 2024 – České Radiokomunikace’s (CRA) financial results have improved significantly. Statistics for the financial year 2023/2024 show an approximately 10% increase in revenues and operating profit compared to previous periods. Consolidated revenues amounted to CZK 2.5 billion and EBITDA CZK 1.2 billion. Overall, for the first time in the company’s history, CRA generated greater revenues from services outside of traditional broadcasting.
CRA has performed well in recent years, as proven by the financial year ended. CRA’s owner, Cordiant Digital Infrastructure, is demonstrating its long-term strategy by retaining CRA’s earnings for further investments. Last year alone, this allowed CRA to acquire Prague Digital, a company that has strengthened CRA’s capacity for TV broadcasting services in Prague and the surrounding area, and Cloud4com along with its Lužice Data Centre. This has made CRA the country’s most important company in the sphere of cloud services and data centres.
“We have significantly strengthened our position, not only in the field of broadcasting services, where we are succeeding to offer new TV channels, build a country-wide DAB network, and strengthen our position in OTT services, but also in the field of other services, such as cloud and data centres, where we have been growing dynamically, successfully supporting CRA’s overall results from multiple sides,” says Miloš Mastník, CRA’s CEO. “The significant impact of our strategy is already evident in our financial results, which show an increase in revenues and profit by around one tenth compared to the last financial year,” adds Miloš Mastník.
CRA’s excellent financial results have also reflected positively in the its financing options: the company has successfully negotiated large refinancing for its existing loans while increasing the overall limit. This will enable CRA to obtain resources for the planned construction of a new data centre which is to be built at Zbraslav and will be one of the largest and most modern data centres in Europe.
České Radiokomunikace a.s. (CRA) is a leader in providing digital infrastructure. In addition to broadcasting services, the company focuses on linking the worlds of television, radio, and the internet. It operates its own data centres, providing its customers with top-notch computing capacity. CRA has its own backbone fibre optic network, and, thanks to its robust broadcasting infrastructure, it can offer its customers wireless solutions or connect nearby sites with fibre optics.
